A human adult or animal is a creature that has developed to the fullest extent. The term adult is used in the context of human beings in order to define social and legal concepts. Contrary to those who are not considered an adult or "minor" legally adult is a person who has reached the age of majority that makes them independent competent, responsible, and capable. Also, they can be described as an "major". The typical age of attaining legal adulthood is 18, however, definitions can differ based on laws, countries, and psychological development.

When a human reaches full physical and intellectual maturity, this is known as adulthood. Adulthood usually begins when a person reaches 21, which is the average age for adults. Mid-life, beginning at about 40 years, is followed by an ageing process that can last up to 60 years. As we grow older, there are three distinct phases: Early adulthood (18-30 years), Middle Adulthood (30-60 years) and finally, late adulthood (60%-60 60%). When we reach early adulthood the body is at its full physical maturity. Yet, our body's size and weight could rise. When we reach early adulthood, our physical abilities are at their maximum. This includes muscle strength and reaction time.
